Attachments and images

Give the assistant more to work with by attaching files and images to a chat. This page covers what you can send, how images are handled, and how to pull in files already saved to a brand.

Click Attach file in the message box and choose Upload from computer, or drag files onto the message box. You can attach up to 10 files per message.

Chat accepts:

  • Images - JPG, PNG, GIF, and WebP
  • PDF
  • Text files - .txt, .md, and .csv

PDFs and text files are read for their content, so the assistant can use them as context. You will see each attachment listed above the message box while it is prepared.

Attach an image with Attach file, drag it in, or paste it straight from your clipboard into the message box. Each image shows a thumbnail preview before you send, and you can remove any attachment before sending.

Whether the assistant can actually read what is in an image depends on the model the current chat is using. When the model supports vision, the assistant sees the image; when it does not, it will work from your text and the other files instead.

If your chat has an active brand, you can attach files already saved to that brand without re-uploading them. Click Attach file, then Attach from brand, and pick from the brand’s images and documents. Files already in this chat are shown as Already attached so you do not add them twice.
