Brand knowledge
Brand knowledge is the set of files you give a brand so MX can draw on them for context. Upload documents and images, and MX reads their text to inform the profile and your chats.
What brand knowledge does
Section titled “What brand knowledge does”Files you add to a brand become extra source material for the AI. MX extracts the text from documents and uses it alongside the brand’s research, facts, and rules whenever it writes for that brand. Good things to add include onboarding forms, call transcripts, past campaign copy, brand guidelines, and images of previous work.
Upload files
Section titled “Upload files”You can add files during onboarding under Additional materials, or later from a brand’s Profile tab under Uploaded Materials. Drag and drop files onto the upload area or click to browse.
Supported file types:
- Word documents (.docx)
- Plain text (.txt) and Markdown (.md)
- CSV
- Images
Each document shows a status while MX reads it: Uploading, then Extracting, and finally a checkmark when it is ready. If a file cannot be read, it shows Failed - use Retry on that file, or remove it. Files that cannot be processed at all show as Unavailable.
Facts and evidence
Section titled “Facts and evidence”The text MX extracts from your files feeds the brand’s facts on the Profile tab. Each fact carries an evidence signal showing how well sourced it is (for example, verified, single source, inferred, user provided, or imported) and a source count you can open to see the backing links. Facts from a full profile research run are accepted for you, so the brand is usable right away; reject or edit any you disagree with and MX adjusts what it treats as true. Anything still pending sits under the Needs review filter and is not in AI context until you accept or edit it. See The brand profile for how facts work.
Use files in chat
Section titled “Use files in chat”When a brand is loaded in chat, you can attach that brand’s uploaded files to a message from the attach menu in the message box. Click Attach file, choose Attach from brand, and pick the files you want. They are added to the message as context for the AI.
Only files that belong to the loaded brand appear in the picker, and you can select several at once up to the message’s attachment limit.
