Create a campaign

Set up a new email or SMS campaign, pick a style and framework, write a short brief, and either generate a first draft or jump straight into the editor.

On the Campaigns page, click New Campaign in the top right. This opens the setup screen where you choose how the campaign is built.

You can also give the campaign a title here. The title is optional - leave it empty and MX uses a default based on the style and brand.

Pick one Campaign Style. This decides the kind of copy MX writes.

  • Designed - copy for designers, meant to be dropped into a designed email.
  • Text-Based - plain text that reads as personal.
  • SMS - short 160-character messages.

Switching styles resets the framework so you always pick one that fits the style.

Open the Framework menu and choose one. The list changes with the style you picked, and each option shows a short description. Some frameworks show a preview so you can see the structure before you commit.

Frameworks are configured for your organization rather than fixed by MX, so the options (and whether any exist at all) depend on what has been set up for that style.

A framework is required before you can generate.

In the Brief field, describe what you want. The placeholder suggests what to cover: “Objective, audience, message, tone.” The brief must be at least 10 characters.

The more specific the brief, the closer the first draft lands.

You have two ways forward:

  • Generate Campaign - MX writes a first draft from your brief, framework, and brand, then opens it in the editor. This needs a brand, a framework, and a brief of at least 10 characters.
  • Skip to Editor - creates an empty campaign and opens the editor right away, with no draft. A brief you already typed comes with it and shows up in the editor’s Brief panel. Use this when you want to write from scratch. This only needs a brand.

Both land you in the campaign editor.

Every campaign lives on the Campaigns page. To narrow the list:

  • Search by name in the search box.
  • Type filter to show only Designed, Text-Based, or SMS.
  • Sharing filter to show only Shared or Private campaigns.
  • Sort by Updated, Created, or title (A-Z, Z-A).

When you search, results are ordered by relevance and the sort control is replaced by a “Sorted by relevance” note.
